Oshkosh Youth Choir

The Lyric Choir - is open to students in grades 4 - 8 and dedicates time during each weekly rehearsal to work on music theory, reading skills and vocal development.

The Aria Choir - is open to 7th through 12th grade students further enhances these skills through performances of very challenging music.

Hope I have everyone on this email. Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer. Mr. J is currently out in California trying to beat the heat while the whether here has been quite pleasant but not as warm as it should be for summer.

We are scheduled to run the Brat Fry at Festival Foods Monday, July 27th and Tuesday, July 28th. Yes we are aware this is EAA week. Hoping this will bring more business. We are looking for volunteers to work the stand both of these days. 2 hour increments starting at 10AM. If you are willing to work longer than 2 hours, great! If you not able to volunteer your time working the stand we ask that you volunteer to provide an additional food item that may be needed for those days. If you are willing to do this let me know and I will let you know what is needed to bring. First come first serve as to what is needed. If you want to do both, again GREAT!. The OYC kids are more than welcome to help out. Especially the ARIA gang. They could count as the adults needed.

I will be making calls to those I do not hear from in the next day or two. So please let me know.

The 2008-2009 season is coming to its end. Once again it has been a wonderful season. As the spouse to the director, a parent to a member, and the president of the board, it has truly been an busy yet enjoyable adventure for me for all angles.

1.) We have some families that have not picked up their pizza cards from Jean Leonard please contact her to make arrangements to get them. We are asking that you pay the $30 for them up front. However, we are willing to work with those families that are not able to pay up front. Just contact Jean.

2.) Any interest in being a board member? We are needing to plan for the 2009-2010 OYC year. If you are interested please contact me no later than Friday, 5/29.

3.) Timber Rattler game on June 13th. Who is all planning on going? We need to get a number so we can arrange for appropriate transportation. Please call or email myself or James by Friday, 5/29 as well.

4.) Is everyone coming back? Please contact James or myself and let us know. The sooner the better. James needs to have an idea of the number in the group and who is going to be there. Music selection for next year will be happening soon.

And lastly, try-outs are on Tuesday, 5/26 at South Park Middle School. Spread the news. We would love to have more members. Thanks to Dave for the media to the schools. I know that Webster Stanley had a huge letter come home with them.

Both choirs perform at least twice each semester in Oshkosh and the surrounding areas.

The Oshkosh Youth Choir is an organization dedicated to fostering and developing musical skills, body mechanics, self confidence and community awareness in students—both male and female—in grades 4 through 12.
